Abstract

With the widespread application of power electronic converters in the power system, the requirements for grid-connected inverters are becoming increasingly strict. Grid-connected inverters need to be able to distinguish between symmetrical and asymmetrical faults. Besides, power quality management devices needs to detect negative sequence components to achieve imbalance compensation of the power grid. Therefore, it is very important to extract the negative sequence components quickly and accurately. This paper proposed a fast negative sequence component detection method based on high-order rotating reference frame. By using the delay signal cancellation (DSC) operator in high-order rotating reference frame, the detection speed is improved, and the data storage pressure is reduced. The performance under frequency fluctuations is analyzed. The simulation results validate the proposed method.
